Understanding what you're doing is fundamental. Explaining the purpose and function of techniques are the best way to really master mathematics. I use examples for people to get a real life understanding as to what certain terms mean. Then its just a matter of practise questions and more practise questions. Fyi... I approach each topic with an aim to understand the initial level of understanding and to patiently build upon this using techniques such as analogies, practice questions and thought-provoking conversation. They way I would teach maths and physics is by the student choosing an area of which they struggle in, or a certain type of question they find hard, go to the basics of how the questions should be answered and give the sufficient knowledge to answer similar ones in the future. If time is on our side then more time could be spent learning the key areas needed to achieve a high grade in the exam.
Hello, my name is Bowen and I’m a first year Natural Sciences student at Cambridge. For my A-Levels I did Edexcel Maths and Further Maths, OCR A Chemistry and OCR B Physics.
