I have been teaching for the past 10 years giving lessons to both children and adults at all levels. My teaching method is the so called natural approach, emphasising communication and oral expression while learning the grammar through speaking.
I have been giving private lessons for 8 years and I have trained about 25 students who passed the exams brilliantly (overseas students graduated in Italy). The key to my lessons is to be patient and be funny talking about each topic and in any circumstance.
I do not have a specific teaching methodology. I believe we're all different and I think I need to get to know you first, and then decide with you what's the best path to follow. I do believe in verbal practice and listening practice, that's the fastes way to learn a new language.
Ciao! I have taught Italian in Paris for a whole year and Spanish and English for a few months when I was in Italy. I love languages and I always strive to learn new ones - I am currently working on my Polish. I believe that once you start learning a language that will be your oyster to travel through cultures and not only countries.
Depending on the degree of knowledge of the language and the needs of the individual student, I will assess the methodology. Generally, if the student is looking for repetition of a class or course he/she is taking, I would follow the textbook guidance.
Throughout my classes I always communicate in Italian even with beginners as I find this helps improve comprehension the best (I resort to English only when needed). I like to build a professional and friendly rapport with my students and like to build my lessons around their interests and needs.
My main method is letting go of the academic and learn the actual language Italians speak everyday on the workplace and in their daily life. Many books I have been dealing with presented a fake language, which foreign students are seldom made fun of. This does apply to every language. In fact, I found this to be the case in my experience with English and Mandarin too.
The methodology depends on the reason/objective of the student of studying another language. I'm likely to use books for a bit of grammar and tests and videos for oral comprehension. Lessons can be a mix of both but I'm happy to adjust to the student's needs. Please be mindful that I do have a full time career and I’d like to be able to offer tuitions in my spare time.
My teaching method will be tailored on the needs of each individual/group. I will start by listening to you and assessing what is needed and what you would like to achieve by attending my lessons. I will then set your expectations realistically using the SMART methodology. We will keep track of your progress together and adjust the course of action as required.
Good communication is very important in order to maximise results - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach Italian - Grammar, Literature, Conversation. - Tell me about your qualifications. BA in English - How much do you charge? - £35.00 per hour, for the lesson to take place in my house - £40.00 per hour, for the lesson to take place at student's house - £45.
My teaching method is mostly based on practise. I base my classes on proper exercises dedicated to raise the awareness of our own voice and the correct use of mouth, tongue and teeth. Thanks to this method, the student is quickly able to understand the differencies and rules of pronunciation. As an actor, I do not have dialect inflections and/or accent. I teach fluid and pure Italian.
I believe in adapting my teaching style to the specific student and their needs. In the first meeting we will establish together what the best course of action will be and what areas need to be worked on.
I do not have any specific technique, in fact I modify my method and I adjust myself based on the person I have in front of me. Indeed, YOU ARE MY PRIORITY, and my goal is you to understand clearly and easily the topic.
As a tutor I prefer to mix my methodology to meet the needs of every student. Everyone is welcome no matter their degree/level of knowledge. I create specific lesson plans tailored to the demands and needs of individual students or small groups. Furthermore, I tend to track student progress and present the information to parents, create tests, prepare students for standardised tests.
- Lessons for university students, elementary, high school and adults (A1-A2 / B1-B2 / C1-C2) - I'm not a fan of boring and frontal classes, I prefer deductive methods and active lessons balanced with theory and grammar.
- Managing classes and fulfilling general duties of a teacher, including teaching, marking work, preparing materials, at a variety of different learning levels. - Relating educational activities depending on the needs/level of each student, thus helping them to learn at their own pace/standard. - Linking and adapting the curriculum whilst meeting set guidelines.
During a lesson (individual or in a group) I prefer to create a mix of different techniques, in a balance of speaking, listening, reading and writing. For example, we can watch a picture or discuss a topic and then focus on grammar and rules of the language. We can read an article or a dialogue and then start a conversation, giving more attention to the vocabulary and fluency.
Thanks to my experience I am actually able now to offer Italian lessons at all levels. I am reliable, easy going, organised and I try to make sessions interesting and constructive in order to let my students reach their potential as easily as possible.
I am a friendly and reliable person who loves share my knowledge with students. I have been enjoying seeing the progress made by my students for 7 years now. I teach to native English speakers as well as foreigners of any age, background or level.
In a nut shell, I am educated to PhD level. I am an intellectual historian. I also hold a master's degree in Translation and another in Environmental Studies. I have a PGCE in MFL and a BA in Italian Studies. I have taught around the world and as such, I have been exposed to different and differing people from all walks of life.
My teaching methodology is based on the humanistic-affective approach, which is an inductive modus operandi, a constant activation of the pre-knowledge of the student, as a tool to involve him both on the psycho-affective and cognitive level.
I think the best method to learn a language is to read and watch films in it in order to acquire the vocabulary and learn the pronunciation then write in it and have conversation in order to have perfect grammar and to practice
My teaching method is based on a communicative approach. So my classes are either entirely in Italian or English with reference to the native language of the student/students only in case of particular difficulties.
I'm an Italian native speaker, so I can teach you from basis to business level. I will help you taking up a new amazing language as well as I can help you become more confident! I'm friendly and patient, well knowing how hard is to understand another language.
The Direct Method In this method the teaching is done entirely in the target language. The learner is not allowed to use his or her mother tongue. Grammar rules are avoided and there is emphasis on good pronunciation. Grammar-translation Learning is largely by translation to and from the target language. Grammar rules are to be memorized and long lists of vocabulary learned by heart.
With a communicative and student-centered style, I like to tailor my lessons based on my students’ needs and interests, giving a complete overview on all aspects of learning: pronunciation, listening, speaking, reading and writing. I strongly believe that there is no such thing as a “definitive method” to learn a language, and I am sure that anyone can find their own way to do it.
I try to create a tailor-made cours for the student, because everyone has different needs. I prefer teaching the grammar by listening some dialogues or by reading stories. If the lessons is on Skype, I use Google doc, because it allows the student to see in real time what I'm writing and vice-versa.
I think Communication is what helps to learn a language, so I would like to create a class with manny people that like to talk about general things, lifestyle, how was your day, introductions in Italian in order to learn the basics.
My teaching method is based on listening to more and more audios, videos, music in Italian. I structure my lessons by videos power points where you can learn about the language and also about the origin of the language. I use also interactive materials for spellings and pronunciations. In addiction, I use apps that can help.
I use modern techniques for teaching. Teaching a language is not just about the grammar and I always try to make my students speak as much as possible during my lessons. The final goal is learning to communicate with othe people.
