About Isaac
Hi, my name is Isaac. I’m currently studying Maths at the University of Sheffield, with the aim to be a maths teacher. I achieved A* at A-Level Maths and I'm the recipient of the Goronwy Jones Prize 2024, awarded by the Institute of Physics to the top scoring A-level candidate in Physics (WJEC). I’m passionate about helping students understand maths clearly and build confidence with tricky topics. I’d love to tutor you in-person so I can give tailored support and help you achieve your best in A-Level Maths.

My maths lessons are structured, supportive, and focused on building genuine understanding. I start by finding out what you already feel confident with and where you’re struggling, so lessons are targeted and not one-size-fits-all. A typical session (1-2 hours) includes clear explanations, worked examples, and guided practice, with plenty of time for questions and discussion.
I achieved an A* in A-level Maths and I'm currently studying maths at university, so I have a strong grasp of the subject and how A-level topics fit together. I have experience tutoring GCSE maths through my volunteering with Action Tutoring. This has helped me develop a clear, patient teaching style and the ability to explain concepts in different ways depending on how a student learns best.
In lessons, I focus on understanding why methods work, which is especially important at A-level where questions often require flexible thinking and problem-solving. We can work through topic-based questions or exam-style problems. I also help students develop good habits, such as structuring solutions clearly and checking your working.
My aim is to create a calm, encouraging environment where students feel confident asking questions. I want students to leave lessons feeling more confident, capable, and prepared to succeed in A-level maths.
