About Katherine
I am beginning to study A Level: Biology, English Literature, Music and Drama and I am offering to tutor: English at KS1, KS2, KS3 and 11+ levels, Biology at KS1, KS2, KS3 and GCSE levels, Physics at KS1, KS2, KS3 and GCSE levels and Maths at KS1, KS2 and 11+ levels. I recently gave private tuition to a GCSE Biology student from January to June 2019. Being a student, I have an understanding of the 9-1 specification and the overall experience of sitting the, now harder, GCSEs. This means that I can share tips and advice with students in order to help them to achieve their ideal grade.

I make lessons fun and explain concepts clearly so that the student gains a solid understanding of difficult topics. This makes the subject seem, overall, more accessible to the student. When tutoring a topic, I will first explain the most basic elements of a concept slowly so that the student can take in the information. This allows the student a brief and overall introduction to a topic. After that I will 'zoom in' on the concept more, explaining it again, only adding in reasons 'why' or explaining how it works briefly. Finally, after the student has fully understood that, I will explain the full details of the concept. This method allows students to fully comprehend and understand a topic to a grade 9 standard. It is a method that I used to revise with myself and I have had positive results from it- especially in the science subjects.
