About Aika
I study Biology, Maths, and Psychology at A level at Grey Court School predicted 3 A*s, and am an Oxbridge applicant. Neuroscience and Human sciences interest me most, however I have also considered a medical profession. Biology is one of the big 3 sciences I found to have the most everyday applications, making it my favourite since I joined secondary school. From then on I have expanded my knowledge at UCL, St Bart’s Hospital, and St Marys University placements.
Teaching is a way for me to express my passion for Biology, as well as support other students towards their academic goals. Ultimately, I wish to encourage students to not see STEM as an exclusive, intimidating industry, but rather as something constantly around us which anyone is able to contribute to.

My teaching approach creates a casual relationship with the student while maintaining professionalism to create comfort while learning. First lesson would consist of identifying weaknesses via a short test, and discussing personal goals to pace lessons accordingly from then on.
Lessons would consist of covering a chosen topic by the student, or working through the syllabus to attend to their current goals. Recall questions will be spaced out to ensure information is being held onto throughout lessons. If chosen, I can set homework assignments weekly.
