About Rita
As an A-level Biology student who has just finished her exams, I provide students with effective feedback and powerful advice, including exam tips for next year, resources for A-level and GCSE biology, and tricks for learning difficult content. I am going on to do a neuroscience degree because I am passionate about science and interested in communicating complex concepts and findings of the scientific community to the public. I am also bilingual and due to my ability to adapt and learn from mistakes I was able to achieve top grades in all GCSE exams despite taking them after only two years of living in the UK. I take a facts-based approach to learning: I use findings of cognitive sciences and I am able to understand and work with diverse ways of grasping concepts and remembering information, making my approach flexible and suitable for a wide range of GCSE and A-level students. Despite not having officially tutored students before, I took part in a mentoring project to help year 7 students in my school grow their confidence as they moved into year 8. In addition, I have completed all training necessary to become a Young Leader at Scouts, with modules covering communication, different learning and teaching styles, and leadership styles. As I am now experimenting being an adult Leader in my Scout group, I am eager to use the skills learned both from my training and completing my A-level exams to support you and guide you along the way as you prepare for your exams.

I am an A-level student who recently completed her exams in OCR Biology. My lessons are tailored to the individual needs and goals of each student, and they draw on a variety of techniques proven effective by the science of learning, such as active recall, interleaving and spaced repetition to help you achieve your full potential. A typical lesson lasts for one hour and consists of reviewing previous topics as well as introducing new topics and linking them together, always applying concepts to examples in real life. I prioritise assessing the student's understanding and reinforcing the habit of using concepts rather than memorising facts. I also provide constructive feedback and short homework assignments to fortify the effectiveness of learning, employing bespoke techniques to help you achieve your absolute best results. Whether you need help revising for exams or are just looking to improve your biology skills, I can offer you an efficacious service that will boost your confidence and understanding of biology, as well as your grades.
