About Zoe
I have been a 1st grade teacher for nearly six years now. I love the one-on-one setting tutoring provides because it allows me to focus on and more constructively help/target the individual's needs and gaps in knowledge or understanding. I love breaking things down and practicing things over and over again with my students because as a teacher, I know how patience, time, and sometimes an adjusted approach is key to our students' progress!

I will start off getting to know your students' baseline knowledge and from there, using the Science of Reading, will give them ideas for what THEY want to be able to do (spell the words they need to to write a letter to Santa, spell their favorite words, etc. and use things they are excited about as examples for how to break down spelling rules, phonics, and how they can be applied to ANYTHING in our language. My generation was taught that English was a crazy language that didn't follow an intuitive set of rules, but it does and can be learned from a developmental age!
