I believe engagement with the subject is essential for learning at any level; understanding the value of what is being learned encourages students to expand their knowledge out of their own interest in the material regardless of any initial difficulties they may encounter. As a tutor, my role is to support students throughout their learning by guiding them through course material and answering core questions, but also by teaching and encouraging them to problem solve independently in order to gain confidence not only in the assigned subject but for future learning. My approach is based on teaching course content alongside key learning skills in a supportive and proactive environment.
