About Megan
I am a Mandarin–English bilingual educator with experience supporting multilingual learners in primary grades. I am currently completing my Teacher Education Program in Early Childhood & Childhood Education and have taught in Kindergarten and Grade 2/3 public school classrooms. My teaching focuses on early literacy, language development, and confidence building for newcomer and bilingual students.
My approach is patient, structured, and encouraging. I understand the challenges children face when learning English and adjusting to a new school environment. I believe students learn best when they feel safe, supported, and confident. Families can expect professionalism, clear communication, and a positive learning experience.

Many newcomer and bilingual children need support not only with English, but also with reading, vocabulary, school language, and classroom confidence. My lessons are designed for Multilingual Learners (MLL) from SK to Grade 5 who are learning English and adjusting to the Canadian school environment.
Each session blends speaking practice, phonics and reading, vocabulary development, and homework language support. For older students, we also work on writing, reading comprehension, and academic participation skills.
My approach is patient, structured, and encouraging so children feel comfortable taking risks and communicating in English. As a Mandarin–English bilingual educator with experience in early literacy and primary classrooms, I understand the challenges MLL students face and help them build confidence at school. All lessons are online. Trial session available upon request.
