About Nathan
As the oldest kid I aspired to teach my brother to "skip, dance, and turn on the light switch" from an early age. I volunteered as a peer tutor in fifth grade and have been teaching in both formal and informal contexts ever since. I have ADHD, so I have developed a broad base of knowledge across a variety of disciplines as I enjoy the novelty of learning. My canine companion is hilarious and also reminds me how to break complicated tasks down into the simplest steps. I love playing late 90's video games like Spyro and racing games like Forza Horizon 4 when I have the time.

While many students come to me asking for help with a specific homework assignment or to study for a test the next day, I am best as a long-term tutor. When time permits, I give students a thorough pre-test to identify conceptual misunderstandings and long-forgotten mathematical skills while supporting students through difficult concepts like stoichiometry, chemical kinetics, buffers, electrochemistry, and chemical equilibrium. I am also able to provide intelligent flashcards and quizzes that implement spaced repetition to improve retention beyond just the next few days while also offering the ability for students to practice skills on their own through a custom website with detailed feedback.
