About Stephanie
I am a highly dedicated language teacher with a Master's Degree in French, TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) and FLE (Français langue étrangère) certificates. I have been teaching for more than 25 years, even while still a graduate student, and since then I have taught at Alliance Française in New Orleans, as well as at Ecole Classique where I was in charge of all 4 years of high school French plus the 8th grade honor's class. I have a great record of success, helping students get early college credit for French and pass AP tests.

My lessons are individualized to the needs and goals of my students. I like to use a combination of text and other printed materials with audio and video depending on the type of lessons I am giving. I work with students of all ages from junior high to adults, at any level from beginners to intermediate level students. I love working with beginners and enjoy teaching grammar and vocabulary. With more advanced students, we might use a graded reader or move on to authentic literature, discussing the themes and topics along with explaining any unfamiliar phrases or vocabulary. While not a native speaker, I have achieved fluency and a very good accent with a lot of hard work, and I can relate to the challenges that students face when trying to learn a foreign language.
