About Crystal
Hello, my name is Crystal and I am a 28-year-old music teacher based in Calgary, Canada. I graduated from the University of Calgary in 2023 with a Master's degree specializing in Music Education. I'm also an active member of the Alberta Piano Teachers Association (APTA). In addition, I am also a certified Kodály instructor. This method focuses on teaching music to young children using solfa and hand signs. I have more than 10 years of teaching experience and have developed an expertise in seeking creative and innovative approaches to engage with my students. These approaches are tailored specifically to accommodate my students of different ages, ranging from 3 to 60 years old.
My students have a 100% passing rate in music examinations and I teach all levels. I have a Trinity ATCL certificate in piano, and ABRSM Grade 8 in music theory. My master's thesis examines the feasibility of applying the Kodály Method (a music teaching method designed for group classes) to private piano lessons. I am passionate about assessing and building programs that will provide my students with a positive music learning experience. If you are interested in having me as your teacher, I am more than willing to provide you with references.

Perfect! As an adult learner, Crystal was able to provide tailored advice for my specific needs. Definitely highly recommended!
Perfect! Crystal is an amazing teacher. My kids progress and enjoyment is far exceeding my expectations. She's talented, patient and knows how to connect to kids, tailoring each lesson individually. You absolutely get the best as she does this full time and also teaches at the university. Would highly recommend to others.
Perfect! Just had my second piano lesson today and I’m loving it! As an adult learner, I needed a teacher who could jazz up my style and keep the music fun. I’m really grateful for how she spots what I need to work on and guides me right. She’s great at keeping my musical journey lively and exciting!
Perfect! Crystal's lessons are engaging and structured towards my interests. She's also very patient and knowledgable. As an adult student, I can't recommend her enough.
