Hi, my name is Joseph, and I am a passionate pianist and certified RIAM graduate with a love for teaching and sharing the joy of music. Over the past year and a half, I have worked with students of all levels, helping them grow their skills, develop confidence, and achieve their goals—whether that's mastering an RIAM grade or simply learning to play their favorite songs.
My journey with the piano began many years ago, and it has taken me from personal practice to performing confidently in front of audiences. These experiences have taught me the discipline, creativity, and dedication required to excel in music, and I’m eager to pass on those lessons to my students.
Teaching is more than just a job for me—it’s a chance to help others discover the beauty and power of music. I want to inspire my students to approach challenges with confidence, express themselves through their playing, and enjoy every step of the learning process. My lessons are designed to be supportive, structured, and fun, so students feel both accomplished and motivated after each session.

My Approach to Tutoring Piano Lessons
Teaching Techniques and Methodology
I focus on tailoring each lesson to the unique needs, goals, and interests of my students. For those pursuing RIAM grades, I emphasize building strong technical foundations
alongside an in-depth understanding
of performance pieces required for exams. For students who are not pursuing grades, I design lessons to foster a love for playing piano by exploring their favorite genres and songs while teaching core techniques and musical expression.
I believe in a balance between structure and creativity. I encourage students to ask questions, explore improvisation, and develop confidence in their playing. My lessons are interactive and engaging, blending technical drills with practical playing to keep students motivated. I also provide personalized feedback and set realistic goals to help students measure progress.
Lesson Duration
Each lesson is 30 minutes long, a manageable time frame that ensures focus and productivity without overwhelming the student.
Qualifications and Experience
I am a certified RIAM grade graduate with a year and a half of experience teaching piano. Additionally, I have practical performance experience playing in front of audiences, which allows me to help students build confidence and stage presence if they aspire to perform.

I offer lessons to students of all RIAM grades, from elementary to Grade 8, as well as to individuals who simply want to learn piano for personal enjoyment without following a graded curriculum.
