I am a postgraduate student at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in viola performance, with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance. I am here to teach you an introduction to music reading.
This masterclass is perfect for anyone with an interest in music, wanting to learn how to read music, understand clefs, keys, tonality, major and minor, rhythms, and other aspects introduced in music theory. We will even discuss aspects of music history and how that influences the way music was and is written. I use the Kodaly method of music education, which involves using visual, aural, and kinesthetic learning (learning through movement). I am a fun teacher, dedicated to my pupils, and make learning the nitty gritty of note reading incredibly interesting!

Course setup
I have been teaching private and group lessons for over a decade in the United States and various areas in the UK. My pupils who take violin and viola lessons with me have been successful in youth orchestra auditions, ABRSM exams, and other various achievements. Aside from learning the important technical work, I prioritize musicianship, understanding, and enjoyment in all aspects of my teaching, and most of all-- having fun!
The class will be an interactive lecture style class-- I won't talk to you or at you, I'll talk with you, and work with you, get you to think outside the box and be creative!
