About Sheryl
I received both my undergraduate degree and my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. I am a National Board Teacher, and I have earned thirty graduate credit hours above my Masters. I have taught elementary and middle school for thirty-one years. In those thirty-one years, I have mostly taught reading, writing, and grammar, but I have also taught social studies. I believe that building relationships with students is key to their learning. My students know that they are cared about as an individual, not just a student. I love to make learning fun so it does not seem like a chore. Learning is a life-long process, and I would love to be able to help you along the way.

My approach to teaching is simple. I Do, We Do, You Do! I will model the concept being taught, either through examples or a mentor text. We will work together to make sure you understand the skills taught. After you think you are ready, you will complete an independent learning activity to ensure you have mastered the skill. The pace of this all depends on the Success of the student. I teach all children, 8th grade and younger. I teach reading, writing, and grammar.
