About Pat
I have been teaching English across all levels of education (primary, secondary, college and university)for 30 years, having a degree and master in English myself. I teach various English-related subjects such as language, literature, ESOL, IELTS, and Business English. My students enjoy the appropriate humour in my lessons while improving in various areas such as spelling, planning and writing essays, developing reading skills and appreciating the different genres of literature.
Many of my students improve dramatically within weeks. For example, I have a current Year 9 student whose grade at school jumped up within 5 weeks of 1-1 tuition with me.

I use illustrations, pictures and real objects(realia) and relate work to learners' lives. I encourage peer work/check to build learner confidence and foster autonomy. In addition, I differentiate tasks to be sufficiently challenging to every learner. I also give detailed and prompt feedback, verbal and written, to both learners and parents.
