About Rachel
I am an English and Creative Writing Masters graduate from UCLA. I have been teaching high school for five years and love my job! I also tutor students that are in middle school through college level in my free time. I love to play sports, write, and go to the beach. I find a lot of my own writing inspiration comes from my own life experiences and am currently writing a book. I tailor my lessons to each individual student and their needs at the moment. I like to get to know them, what is required from their school, as well as their current level of each subject. I make lessons fun and enjoyable! I know you will not regret working with me!

-My teaching techniques include using prompts that are relatable to the student in order for them to become interested in the subject of English/Writing. I also go over the piece of writing with the student meticulously to edit it together to perfection.
-A typical lesson plan begins with a quick writing prompt as a "warm-up," then the student and myself will read a part of a book and discuss the different aspects of the reading (which is usually from a classic novel). We will end the lesson with something fun such a writing a creative poem or short-story.
-I am different them other tutors because I am fun, tend to each individual, meaning that I get to know each student and then work on them with assignments that fit their own needs, and I also make sure they work hard and in accordance with their schoolwork to ensure they are thriving!
-My lessons can be tailored for students middle school through college levels. Classes that I can help tutor with range from basic English, Creative Writing, Poetry, Editing, Spelling, Grammar, Reading, and anything in-between!
