I am very patient and want to ensure we work at a pace and level that works for you. In our lessons we will review work already covered, check for any gaps in understanding and, if appropriate, lay foundations for work you might be covering later. I can also cover exam skills, practice questions and mark schemes if that is where you feel you need support.
I was a teacher in England for four years and Head of Department prior to coming back to Belfast for study. I have at different stages been the Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level coordinator for history. From this, I have experience in working with students of all abilities; those just starting and those aiming for university. The grades they achieved ensured that any of my students who were aiming for sixth form or university achieved their goal.

Knowing Clare both within a personal and professional setting as a friend at university makes it clear to me that she requires the perfect skills and personality to act as an excellent tutor. Within the academic settings of the classroom, it is apparent instantly that Clare is very knowledgeable, intelligent and most importantly respectful of other opinions and interpretations that fellow classmates submit. Her knowledge spans beyond her academic interests, and she carries herself with a confident and considerate manner, aiming to help where she can. Her past career as a history teacher makes her a perfect tutor as she possesses the knowledge already on how to teach subjects in a variety of manners that are applicable to each individuals personal needs. Beyond the more formal settings, Clare is a very motherly and kind character. She is encouraging, wise and extremely supportive of all her friends as well as those under her care. The lengths and support Clare can provide ensures that she would be an invested and dedicated tutor to any student.
