About Henley
I have always been fascinated by the clarity and logic of mathematics, which inspired me to pursue a Master’s in Applied Mathematics. Over the past 7 years, I have helped students of various ages and backgrounds develop a deep understanding of algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics. My teaching approach emphasises structured explanation, interactive problem-solving, and real-world application, ensuring students not only understand mathematical principles but can also apply them with confidence.
I focus on making mathematics engaging and accessible by incorporating visual examples, step-by-step problem-solving techniques, and thought-provoking exercises. Lessons are adapted to individual learning styles and goals, providing both challenge and support. I encourage curiosity, independent thinking, and perseverance, helping students overcome fear and build genuine confidence in their abilities.
Beyond teaching, I keep up with new developments in mathematical research, applied techniques, and educational strategies to enhance my lessons. Witnessing learners transform from uncertainty to solving complex problems confidently is deeply rewarding. My goal is to instil not only mastery of mathematical concepts but also logical reasoning, critical thinking, and a lifelong appreciation for the elegance and utility of mathematics in understanding the world.

Mathematics can be both exciting and approachable when concepts are explored through practical examples and interactive learning. In my lessons, I focus on algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics, combining clear explanations with visual aids, problem-solving exercises, and real-life applications. I emphasise understanding over memorisation, helping students build strong conceptual foundations that can be applied to diverse problems. Lessons are structured to encourage active thinking, curiosity, and logical reasoning, ensuring learners develop both confidence and competence.
Each student receives tailored guidance according to their skill level. Beginners are introduced to fundamental principles, basic operations, and simple problem-solving strategies. Intermediate learners explore multi-step problems, functional analysis, and applied applications in various contexts. Advanced students tackle abstract concepts, rigorous derivations, and problem-solving under exam conditions. Interactive exercises, guided practice, and feedback are integrated throughout to foster steady progress and mastery.
Learning mathematics enhances analytical thinking, pattern recognition, and problem-solving abilities.
