About Kim
I hold an MSc in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics from the London School of Economics and a BSc in Mathematics and Philosophy from Durham University, where I received several academic prizes for outstanding achievement.
Following university, I worked for several years as an economic consultant in Oxford, using mathematics, statistics, and quantitative analysis in professional research projects. I also spent a year teaching ESL to children and adults, during which I developed a patient, adaptable, and student-focused teaching style.
I enjoy helping students develop confidence and understanding in subjects that can often feel intimidating or overly abstract. Whether working through core concepts, preparing for exams, or tackling difficult assignments, I aim to make lessons clear, engaging, and approachable.
I offer both online and in-person tutoring, including the use of virtual whiteboards and interactive problem-solving during online sessions.

I offer personalised maths and statistics tutoring for students of a wide range of ages and abilities.
Alongside a year of experience teaching ESL to children and adults, I also spent five years working in an economic consultancy, where I regularly used and taught mathematics and statistics within quantitative research projects. This professional background allows me to explain not only how methods work, but also how they are applied in real-world situations.
My teaching style focuses on building genuine understanding and confidence. I tailor lessons to each student’s current level and guide them step by step through new concepts, helping them develop the skills to solve problems independently rather than relying on memorisation alone.
I aim to make sessions engaging, supportive, and approachable. I often use visual aids, exercises, real-world examples, and data visualisations to make difficult topics easier to understand. I am patient and adaptable, and I encourage students to ask questions freely and work through challenges at their own pace.
Above all, I believe learning should be an enjoyable experience. By incorporating students’ interests and creating a relaxed learning environment, I help students stay motivated while working towards their academic goals.
Recommendations

Kim was my student at Durham University. The work he conducted under my supervision was always conscientious and of the highest possible quality. He also produced an exemplary piece of research in his final year dissertation. He is thoughtful and articulate and patient, and works well with others to ensure that they understand all the details.
I worked with Kim for three years in an economics consultancy. Kim developed several very advanced models for the business and taught fellow workers how to use these and the principles behind them. He was unfailingly clear, patient and helpful and helped improve the skill levels of those around him a great deal.
