About Heather

I have a Maths degree and have always loved Maths, and I would like to share that with you.

I have trained many people, in many various tasks, and have always been told I explain things in a clear way.

I will listen to you, to see how you learn, and I will try different ways to explain things, until we get there together, as a team.

About the lesson

I tailor the lessons to you. Based on the child’s age, abilities and personality. And based on your goals for the tutoring.

I do everything i can to make the child feel comfortable and able to answer questions and to give positive reinforcement to inspire confidence.

I would advise sessions of one hour, with one or two short breaks within that. I adjust start and finish times so that you are not paying for breaks. But i know that breaks are fundamental for learning.

I have a maths degree and a career in finance. So I can tutor maths at all levels, including GCSE and 11+.

However my experience to date is with primary age children.

I have experience volunteering in a primary school, working with children for whom English was not their first language.

I also have significant experience with primary age SEN (special educational needs) children, specifically ASD and ADHD.
