For English as a second language, I will start by having a conversation and asking you your interests, what you do, asking questions about your daily routine, and such. From here, I can get an understanding of which level of English you can communicate with.
I will pull out your greatest strengths and weaknesses and help you work through both by doing tasks such as group work: communication with other individuals, as I firmly believe this is the best way to learn English. After, we can worry about grammar, spelling, reading, writing.
As your tutor, communicating a new language with others is the fastest way to practice, grow, and get out of your comfort level. The methodological part can always be prioritized later.
