About Sandy
I am currently a Chemistry major at McGill University and an IB graduate. In high school, I received awards in several mathematics and science competitions, including the CIMC, Pascal, Cayley, and Galois contests, and was awarded the Elemental Tile Prize for Avogadro twice. I completed IB Mathematics HL and earned a 7 in both IB Chemistry HL and IB Physics SL.
At McGill, I work as a mentor and tutor for introductory physics and organic chemistry courses in which I previously excelled. I lead classroom tutorials, answer students' questions, and help them work through weekly assignments. I also provide one-on-one tutoring sessions to help students prepare for exams and develop a deeper understanding of challenging concepts.

My tutoring is aimed at elementary and high school students in mathematics and science, as well as university students taking general chemistry, introductory organic chemistry, introductory physics, and introductory calculus.
I focus on building strong conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills. Rather than simply giving answers, I guide students through the reasoning process by helping them identify patterns, choose appropriate formulas, and develop confidence when approaching unfamiliar problems. A typical lesson includes reviewing key concepts, working through examples step by step, and practicing similar questions to reinforce understanding.

Perfect! She is the best. She is very clear. She have pacient.
Perfect! Sandy is an exceptional teacher who took the time to thoroughly assess my daughter’s current mathematics level, curriculum, and overall learning needs. She provided a clear and well-structured roadmap, outlining how Cayley can be pursued not only through her schoolwork but also for other competitive mathematics programs. Her attention to detail and ability to personalize the learning plan stood out immediately.
What impressed me most was her methodical approach—she didn’t rush into teaching but instead built a strong understanding of where my daughter stands and where she can go. Sandy’s guidance brings clarity and direction, which is incredibly valuable when navigating multiple math enrichment opportunities.
Overall, her professionalism, depth of knowledge, and commitment to student growth make her a highly recommended educator for anyone looking to build both foundational skills and competitive excellence in mathematics- Manya is an amazing student. She is attentive, engaged, and consistently asks thoughtful questions during our lessons. She has a good understanding of her strengths and areas for improvement, and she always completes her homework and comes prepared. I've noticed a significant improvement since our first few lessons, both in her confidence and her understanding of the material. One area she could continue to work on is talking through her thought process when solving problems, which will help us identify any misunderstandings more easily. Overall, Manya is a dedicated and hardworking student, and I genuinely enjoy teaching her.Sandy's response :

[Due to her help, I received an A in physics, statistics, calculus 1 & 2, linear algebra, and chemistry in the McGill curriculum]
I first met with Sandy for physics tutorials, and she completely transformed my learning experience.
What I appreciate most about Sandy’s teaching method is her ability to break down highly complex concepts into clear and manageable pieces. Rather than just forcing memorization, she focused on building a strong foundational understanding, using practical examples.
If you are looking for a reliable, brilliant, and genuinely amazing tutor who will help you achieve top results, Sandy is the perfect choice.A very patient, professional, and dedicated teacher—highly recommended.
I was a student that took a class with Sandy together, Sandy learns really fast, intelligent, and smart. There are times I asked her during class and she explained to me and helped me understand really well. Highly recommending Sandy as a tutor.
Sandy is a sweet, heartwarming girl. She knows how to bring comfort in situations where most people wouldn't know how to act. The balance between fun and seriousness is rare to find, yet she makes it look natural.

I know Sandy as amazing friend who is able to explain complex concepts to me. She is also incredibly patient, empathetic and reliable. Highly recommended!
Sandy is a great tutor! I often take a long time to process concepts learned in class and run into questions about various topics afterward. I have no one to turn to. Sandy helps teach these concepts in a clear and concise manner, and these topics tend to stick in my head for much longer afterward!
I had a great experience working with Sandy and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for extra support in mathematics. From the very first lesson, Sandy created a comfortable learning environment where I felt confident asking questions and working through difficult problems.
What stood out most was her patience and ability to explain concepts in different ways until everything clicked. Sandy didn't just help me solve problems—they helped me understand the underlying ideas, which made a huge difference in my confidence and performance.I highly recommend Sandy for her intelligence, professionalism, and dedication to helping others learn. She has an exceptional ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and approachable manner, making her an effective tutor and mentor. Her patience, knowledge, and communication skills consistently contribute to the success of those she assists.
Sandy has helped me and many of my friends ace our courses. She makes difficult concepts more digestible while being incredibly fun to be around at the same time
Sandy was the first person I met at university. My initial impression of her was that she was a bright and funny girl. She likes to smile and is always excited to talk about chemistry with me. Her outgoing attitude makes people around her feel joy and comfort. Sandy is also a curious and passionate person. She always has interesting things to share that enlighten me. I can see Sandy being the wonderful teacher that every kid welcomes and loves.
I first met and befriended Sandy in a class for statistics, where I asked her for help with parts of the content that I had struggled with understanding for years across multiple different classes. She's incredible at explaining non-intuitive concepts in short amounts of time and actually helping you retain the information long-term. Sandy is not only patient, but also hardworking (I've seen her dedicate hours into refining her teaching and explanations before tutoring sessions), and teaches using concrete examples to really help lock the patterns into your memory. Overall, I strongly recommend Sandy as a tutor. Her dedication and knowledge are both inspiring and mildly intimidating, and I wish her all the best going forward!
Sandy is one of my closest friends at university, and she helped me so much with Org 1 and 2. She’s incredibly kind, genuinely cares about my studies, and is always willing to help when I’m struggling. She regularly checks in on me and encourages me to keep going (even during one of our mutual friend’s birthday parties, she was still helping me with an org 2 problem that i was desperate about!)
She’s also incredibly smart and consistently earns amazing scores on her exams, yet she’s never arrogant about it. Instead, she’s always happy to share her knowledge and help others succeed. Before exams, she helped me cram and gave me the confidence and final push I needed. Honestly, I don’t think I would have passed 2 without her support.🥹I’m so lucky to have a friend like Sandy️I've taken org 1 and 2 with Sandy in my first year of university and can confirm that she is the chem GOAT. All of my friends taking any chem-related courses come to her for questions, and she is super patient and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend her for any chem help!
Sandy is one of my classmates at university. She is patient, knowledgeable, and always willing to help others with their studies. She explains concepts clearly and takes the time to make sure people understand the material. I would highly recommend her as a tutor.
Sandy is truly exceptional. While many people understand university-level mathematics, it’s rare to find someone who can explain it this clearly. When taking calculus 3 together, she helped me work through complex topics like multivariable calculus and series convergence, breaking them down into concepts that actually make sense. What sets her apart is that she doesn’t just show you how to solve problems, she teaches you the logic, so you can approach new problems with confidence. She is incredibly organized, patient, and reliable.
Sandy is an excellent tutor. Not only does she have strong academic knowledge, but more importantly, she can quickly understand a student’s current level and where they are struggling. As a result, her explanations are highly targeted, helping students grasp concepts more efficiently.
