About Luca
Hi, I'm Luca! I'm an engineer by profession and a tutor at heart someone who genuinely enjoys helping students understand subjects that once felt daunting to me too.
I hold a First Class Honours degree in Mechatronics Engineering. Today, I work as an Associate Engineer, travelling internationally to commission and troubleshoot complex control systems on major offshore projects.
My interest in teaching didn't start with tutoring — it started at university, where I spent a full academic year as a Student Learning Assistant, supporting fellow students with mathematics and helping them build the confidence to improve their grades. I found real satisfaction in that "lightbulb moment" when a concept finally clicks, and it's what continues to motivate me as a tutor today.

I believe maths and physics click best when students see why they matter, not just how to solve them. As a working engineer, I draw on real examples from my job — control systems, sensors, mechanical design — to show how the equations on the page translate into things that actually get built and used. I focus on:
Breaking problems down into clear, logical steps (the same process I use for engineering fault-finding)
Building strong fundamentals before tackling exam-style questions, so students understand rather than memorise.
Typically 1-2 hour per session.
