About Raven
My passion is for the saxophone. I have been playing for 6 years now, and am currently at a Grade 7 level. I want to imbue the excitement of learning this fascinating and melodious instrument to anyone who wants to learn - young or old. Both my parents are professional musicians and music teachers, and I have trained with the best saxophonists in Melbourne, giving me a keen sense of how to teach and what to teach. Additionally, I run a woodwind ensemble where I have mentored the other members in lieu of private tuition. I am flexible and happy to suit your needs. Approved Working with Children’s Check and Police Check that I’m happy to provide evidence for upon request!

My students will be allowed to explore the saxophone with guided lessons ensuring they feel comfortable and well supported, which will eventually flow through to their playing and dexterity on the instrument. I welcome people of all kinds to start playing, or continue their love for saxophone, and I will nurture this interest with the learner. I had fun while excelling on this instrument and I truly believe that is possible for anyone!

Perfect! Raven was great as she has multiple ways of explaining different musical terms with easy-to-understand processes. She was confident and patient and didn't become frustrated whenever a mistake was made. She is knowledgeable in music theory and is able to convey harder terminologies with simpler alternatives. Overall, Raven was excellent, and I'd highly recommend her.

Perfect! My 11yr old daughter had her first lesson with the Alto Sax with Raven. She is a brilliant teacher, very engaging. I think my daughter and I both had fun even though I was just watching. She is clearly an accomplished musician who makes learning interesting and so that you want to do it and doesn't make it into a chore

Raven has been studying music since she was two years old. Her parents both being professional musicians and educators have ensued she has been immersed in both a musical and educational environment.
Raven is a supportive, understanding and imaginative teacher who has an excellent understanding of the material she teaches. Her understanding of theory, aural skills, tone production, technical facility including fingerings on the saxophone are broad and deep.
Raven has experience in many aspects of music including playing a number of instruments and singing. She has experience as a vocal coach for musical productions and as a band leader.
I have no hesitation in recommending Raven as a thoughtful and knowledgeable teacher.
