About Alessio
I have taught Italian to numberless people, but my most interesting experience was teaching Italian to foreigners who lived in Turin and came from all sides of the world - in the same classroom I had people from Nigeria, China, Germany, Romania, Egypt and a few more countries.

I usually plan my lessons as part of courses of 5, 10 or 20 meetings of one hour each (up to two hours, according to the needs). I detail two typologies below, but I am quite flexible - in fact, I do believe firmly that lessons should be always tailored around each specific student.
I try to provide all explanations in Italian, and I use a lot of paraphrases. It's of course less immediately satisfactory, but bears better results in the long run.
I am quite talkative and, having taught Italian in Turin to foreigners from different nations, I adapt very quickly to the context at hand. I am quite skilled with Italian grammar, but I believe in the importance of speaking the very language as much as possible. Grammar can improve over time, but, especially for beginners, what is needed is to get in the groove with the language!
Two examples, just to give you an idea:
- If the student requests a well-rounded preparation, my typical lesson (one hour) will consist in 20 minutes of conversation with vocabulary additions, 20 minutes of grammar explanation and a final 20 minutes of conversation-based exercises, to solidify the grammatical structure learnt.
- If the student, on the other hand, prefers to focus on conversation, the one-hour meeting will be entirely devoted to that, with either simulations of real-life situations or, if the student aims at a more free-wheeling lesson, with a normal conversation in which I give feedback throughout.
