About Emmanuel
I'm Emmanuel, a software engineer and university tutor with over seven years of programming experience and an MSc in Computing Science (Distinction). I have taught Database Systems, Software Engineering and Web Development, and enjoy helping GCSE, A-Level, university and beginner students build confidence and succeed in computer science and programming.

My lessons are tailored to each student's goals, experience and learning style. I believe that the best way to learn computing is through practice, so I combine clear explanations with hands-on exercises and real-world examples. Rather than simply teaching students to memorise code, I focus on helping them understand the underlying concepts so they can solve problems independently and build confidence.
A typical lesson lasts 60-120 minutes, although longer sessions. Lessons usually begin with a quick review of previous topics, followed by the introduction of new concepts, guided coding exercises, and practical challenges. I also provide feedback, debugging techniques and optional practice tasks to reinforce learning between lessons.
I hold an MSc in Computing Science (Distinction) and have over 7 years of professional experience developing software using Python and modern backend technologies. Alongside my industry experience, I have taught Computer Science and Mathematics in schools and universities, supporting students with coursework, programming assignments, exam preparation and software development projects.
I teach learners at a wide range of levels, including:

Postgraduate (Master's) Computing modules, including Database Systems and Software Engineering

In addition to my industry experience, I have taught Database Systems and Software Engineering at Master's level in London and also a Level 4 Web Development Tutor. This experience enables me to adapt my teaching style to learners of different ages and abilities, from complete beginners to postgraduate students, while ensuring lessons remain practical, engaging and aligned with academic and industry standards.
