About Annabel
Hi! I'm Annabel, and I'm very excited to tutor Psychology! I’m passionate about making psychology engaging, accessible, and enjoyable to learn. I’ve always been fascinated by how people think, learn, and develop, and I love helping students not only achieve their academic goals but also discover their own curiosity for Psychology. I hold a Master’s degree in Psychology of Education, where my research focused on working memory and cognition. I’m particularly interested in how emotions affect learning, specifically during childhood and adolescence. I also have an undergraduate degree in Communications and experience as a learning support assistant across both mainstream and specialist (SEN) primary and secondary schools. I am currently training as a primary school teacher, which allows me to apply my knowledge of psychology to real classroom practice every day. I believe learning is most effective when it feels interactive, practical, and tailored to each student—and that’s the approach I bring to every session.

I take a student-centred approach to tutoring, tailoring lessons to each learner’s needs, goals, and preferred learning style. I break down complex psychological theories into clear, manageable steps, using examples, case studies, and exam-style practice to strengthen learners' understanding. A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, though I also offer 90-minute sessions for students who want more in-depth support. Lessons usually include: recapping previous material, exploring new content through interactive tasks and practice exam questions, and summarising the lesson, with clear feedback for next steps. I hold a Master's degree in Psychology of Education, and have 1 year of experience as a learning support assistant in both primary and secondary schools, both in mainstream and specialist (SEN) settings. I also have an undergraduate degree in communications. My background includes both academic study and practical experience in psychology, which allows me to connect theory with application. My tutoring will be for GCSE students looking to build a strong foundation in psychology; A-level students aiming to improve essay writing, analysis, and exam technique, and Undergraduate students seeking support with assignments, research methods, or understanding complex theories. My lessons are suitable for students aged 14+ through university level, whether you need structured ongoing support or one-off sessions to prepare for exams or coursework.
