About Sam
I am a Senior Software Developer with more than 15 years experience in multiple domains. I have worked for many companies in the past as an Independent Consultant and Contractor. I have skills and real world experience in Software Engineering, Database/BI, Integration/Middleware/Messaging, Support, Project, Team Management and Agile. My strongest languages are Java, C#, SQL, T-SQL, but I am familiar with most commonly used languages & have commercial experience with most. I am currently engaged full time with an international omni-channel retailer, but have some capacity for teaching new students during evenings.

I am currently teaching mostly upper primary/lower high school aged learners. We use a popular game as a basis for writing modifications using Java; so that students can produce tangible work that they can relate to and use - rather than writing code for no or irrelevant purposes.
When you come to me, we will discuss and plan a project that you would like to complete through your time with me. I will teach and/or coach you through the process, encouraging a gentle path towards independence. With me, it is not just the coding/tooling you will learn - you will learn the processes and thinking patterns of a professional developer, enabling you to apply this in your future employment or studies.
