The first step I take is to find out the pupils interest in music and art and to create engaging lessons that the student would look forward to, with the focus of using elements of visual, auditory, and information/context to deepen the richness of the learning experience. Depending on the needs of the students, whether they are looking to partake in piano examinations (e.g. ABRSM) or general lessons, the areas I cover in no particular order are: sight-reading, scales & arpeggios, performance and preparation of pieces knowing the context and history for the best quality of performance, improvisation, and general music theory knowledge that is key when learning the piano and music in general. I can prepare resources and materials to aid when learning piano and seek out what is best for the student, whether that be for sight-reading or understanding music theory etc... I am patient and friendly, and want to give the gift of being able to play and enjoy the breathe of what music has to offer.
I am a composer and pianist, I graduated from Trinity Laban conservatoire with a Bachelors in music studying composition and performance. I have been teaching piano lessons since 2014, preparing young students for piano examinations (grades 1-5) and competitions. I have also participated in many piano competitions (such as around the globe piano festival), as well as composing a variety of works for various ensemble types, from solo instrumental pieces to orchestras.
I also produce electronic music, many of my works explore combinations of ensemble writing and electronics with the use of microphones & effects, tape loops, and contact microphones. I am also very familiar with programs such as Sibelius, Reason, Logic, and Ableton for music notation and production.
If needing to cancel a lesson, please give a 24 hour notice.
