About Shaqueal
Learning music production can feel overwhelming at first. There are so many tools, technical terms and creative decisions that it can be difficult to know where to begin. I want to make that process feel simpler, more enjoyable and less intimidating by giving students clear guidance and allowing them to learn at their own pace.
I am currently completing a BA (Hons) in Music Production at the University of Northampton and have several years of experience producing music, working in studios, recording artists and developing my skills in mixing and audio editing. I am proficient in FL Studio, Logic Pro and Pro Tools, and I can help students understand both the creative and technical sides of making music.
My lessons are patient, practical and tailored to each student’s goals. Whether a student wants to make their first beat, understand their DAW, improve their arrangements or develop a complete song, I aim to create a comfortable environment where they can ask questions, experiment and build confidence without feeling judged or rushed.

My approach to teaching music production is practical, supportive and tailored to each student’s goals. I believe students learn best by working directly inside a DAW rather than only listening to technical explanations.
During lessons, I'll first demonstrate a technique and explain it in simple terms. We then complete an example together before the student applies the technique independently with my guidance and feedback. Lessons may cover beat-making, arrangement, recording, sound selection, mixing, effects, sampling and developing a complete track from an initial idea.
I also adapt lessons around the student’s preferred genre and musical influences. Rather than forcing every student to follow the same process, I help them understand the tools and develop a workflow that suits their creativity.
A typical lesson would last 60 minutes:
* 5–10 minutes reviewing progress and setting a goal
* 15–20 minutes explaining and demonstrating a technique
* 20–25 minutes of guided practical work
* 5–10 minutes reviewing the result and setting a task for the next lesson
I am currently completing a BA (Hons) in Music Production at the University of Northampton. I have approximately three years of studio experience and two years of focused music production experience. I am proficient in FL Studio, Logic Pro and Pro Tools, and I have experience with recording, editing, mixing, mastering and working with artists and clients.
Although I am new to formal tutoring, I am patient, approachable and confident in explaining production techniques in a straightforward way. My lessons are best suited to beginners and early-intermediate producers, including teenagers, university students and adults who want to learn how to use a DAW, improve their productions or complete their own songs.
