I graduated from Conservatoire in Madrid and studied with one of the most well known pedagogues in violin, Anna Baget and I am currently studying with Maureen Smith, whose mother started her own violin teaching methods: Eta Cohen Violins Methods
I can give 30 min, 45 min or and hour lesson in the afternoon/evening during the week and Saturday mornings
I am a Music student at the Royal Academy of Music and I will be going into my third year of my undergraduate studies. I am also a Spanish native speaker so I would be happy to teach Spanish as well.
Maria started her musical studies as well as violin at the age of 5 under the direction of Anna Baget, at the “Conservatorio Profesional de Música Adolfo Salazar”, Madrid.
She has participated in several master classes in Spain, Salzburg (Mozarteum University, 2014 and 2016) and France, with Kirill Troussov, Mari Tempere-Bezrodny, Lukas Hagen, Keiko Wataya, Stephan Picard, Gottfried Schneider, Manuel Guillén, Agustín León Ara, Ana María Valderrama and Friedman Wetzel. She has, in addition, received coaching from the Quiroga Quartet.
She has been a member of the Violin Ensemble directed by Anna Baget, which has also directed herself several times. She has participated in the TV programme “El Conciertazo” run by Fernando Argenta, and in the International Summer Academy of Llanes Chamber Orchestra, directed by the Quiroga Quartet. She has lead Adolfo’s Salazar Symphony and Chamber Orchestra, with which she has performed The Spring (The Four Seasons) by A. L. Vivaldi (2010), and Zigeunerweisen by P. Sarasate (2018).
She has performed as a soloist in several venues such as Wigmore Hall, Royal Albert Hall, as part of one of the BBC Proms Concerts, “Auditorio Nacional de Música de Madrid”, “Auditorio de la ONCE” (Madrid),“Conservatorio Superior Pablo Sarasate” (Pamplona),
“Matadero” (Madrid), “Teatro Calderón de la Barca de Valladolid” and Mozarteum University.
She has been awarded First Prize at the “II Concurso de Interpretación Musical del Instituto Cardenal Cisneros” (Madrid) and Second Prize at the “III Violin Competition Pozuelo de Alarcón” (Spain). She has been a finalist at the “XVI Internacional Violin Competition “Villa de Llanes” (Spain) and at the “ VII Concurso Nacional de Jóvenes Intérpretes Ciudad de Cuenca” (Spain).
María graduated her “Conservatorio Porfesional” with the final year’s Honorary Prize
and studies her first year of the undergraduate programme at the Royal Academy of Music under the direction of Maureen Smith.
