My name is Glory Bakyayita. I live in Glasgow. I am quite a relaxed sort of person and a very social person at the same time. I am looking for a job that can occupy myself during my half term breaks. I feel like this job can help me gain confidence and build my social skills. It also offers me a level of experience and strengthens my skill of cooking or working with food. I have had experience when working with food as I am a student and I recently took Food Technology as a GCSE and received a B.

Working Experience

I have had little working experience especially with food. For my GCSE, I had to create foods that were suitable to a Café Cultural environment and I also had to adjust them according to my customers. I have also had work experience in dealing with strangers which has built my social skills.

Skills

Leadership

I have had a lot of experience in the Leadership category especially in the Duke of York’s Royal Military School. I have been a Deputy Head Of House and Head Of House in the school. These roles are roles that exist in the school because there are boarding houses and the people reinstated with these roles are the leaders in the houses. I have also been part of an ACF and CCF companies especially in DOYRMS. I have had a lot of ranks within the ACF and CCF companies like Section commander, Platoon Sergeant Commander and Company Commander. These ranks have put me in charge of a number of people ranging between 9 and 120 people.

Creativity

I am quite a creative person. I have had the experience of being creative especially with food as I did a creative workshop for my GCSE Food technology course. I am also a pianist and a singer as well and have had interest in music and I believe that you can create an image with food and music. I am the main cook in my home and I have experimented with different foods like Spanish Omelettes and Curries.

Teamwork

I have been involved in a lot of teamwork opportunities especially in ACF and CCF. I have also been a part of team building workshops like raft building. Some of my current A levels need teamwork like my Performing Arts Course. In Performing Arts, we have some group workshops that we have been assessed on. In GCSE Food Technology, I have had to work in pairs to cook.
