About Allison
Allison Liu is a professional, Suzuki-certified trained cellist, pianist, and music educator. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, she built her musical foundation under the tutelage of Irene Sharp, Jihee Kim, Kevin Yu, and Alison Lee, and furthered her training under Professor Sarah Koo Freeman at the University of California, Irvine. She holds a B.M. in Cello Performance and a B.S. in Informatics from UC Irvine, and graduated with a M.S. in Information from the University of Michigan.
Now establishing her studio in Austin, Texas, her artistic voice is driven by a dedication to pedagogy and community healing. She is a Suzuki certified teacher (Book 1, June 2026) who is open to providing both cello and music theory lessons. Beyond the cello, Allison's decade of piano study and achievement of the California Certificate of Merit Level 10 broaden her musical versatility.

Classes are inclusive to all age groups, I can cater to each student separately based on their levels and needs. For instance, I am open to teaching beginner level (identifying notes, rhythms) music theory notation to intermediate (identifying chords, progressions, notating complex rhythms), and advanced level.
