About Melissa
Do you struggle to play the music you actually hear on the radio? After 13 years of teaching, I help adults and teens integrate skills like pedaling technique, hand independence, and jazz improvisation into their daily playing. My training from the Musicians Institute Hollywood allows me to simplify complex concepts like music theory, scales, and arpeggios.
Students often find that mastering sight transposition and chord voicing changes their relationship with the instrument. Incorporating ear training and accompaniment skills creates a more complete musician who understands the mechanics behind the sound. This approach reflects my background helping many church musicians transition toward secular styles.
