My names Sinead, I have studied both Fine Art and Visual Anthropology at Masters level. I have a strong knowledge of the Social Sciences and Arts can offer help with research technique, Writing skills

Methodology

I use a person centered approach, so each student will be slightly different. We will figure out what methods and techniques work for you when writing and researching, this can be different from person to person or depending on the subject. I like to cover fundamentals, historical context and technique before applying creative critical thought. We will think about language, study skills and writing structure and learn through discussion, developing opinion and critique. Each session we will create goals and outcomes for the next.

Experience

I am have worked teaching Art and acedemic writing over the past seven Years. I have practice privately and in schools and universities. I have tutored fine art and social science BA honer’s to grade 2.1 or above. I attended Camberwell College of Art and Goldsmiths for a MA in visual anthropology. I am currently working on anthropological research methods that combine science and art. My strengths include in-depth research connecting disciplines such as philosophy, art, psychology, art history etc and academic writing structure and critical thought. I have a friendly approach and enjoy getting know students, working together to create a strategy, develop strengths and understand weakness to enjoy and understand the process of academic writing and research. I have a friendly approach to teaching and support my students holistically and individually.

I am a passionate, dedicated and motivated person. I have extensive experience within Fine art, Workshop Facilitation, Arts access and education. I feel strongly about social inclusion and equal opportunities and enjoy working with a diverse range of people. Driven by research and ideas with strong organisational skills and a proven ability coordinating and creating arts programmes and events as well as teaching art to adults and children in educational, gallery and therapeutic environments. I adapt well and enjoy a challenge. I am a practicing figurative and portrait artist, as well as specialising in the practice of portrait painting I am experienced in managing personal artist social media, website and exhibitions as well as freelance Fine Art Tutoring work. I am Currently studying a Part-time Masters in Visual Anthropology at Goldsmiths University, where I am honing research methods and gaining invaluable knowledge surrounding social science and arts practice. More specifically, theories surrounding identity, representation of others and the relationship between commercial art, society and the economy. I have extensive knowledge of Art History, Contemporary Art, philosophy, I am a critical thinker and pride myself on interpersonal skills. Specialised training in Autism with the National Autistic Society, DBS checked.
