About Mackenzie
Hello! My name is Mackenzie and I am the child of two deaf adults. American Sign Language is my first language and the language I speak at home. I have been tutoring ASL all throughout high school as well as tutoring a girl who is deaf herself. Now that I am a sophomore in college, I have also spent my first year tutoring college level ASL classes as well. Aside from ASL, I tutored a young girl with down syndrome in high school over various subjects, including math, english, reading, and history. I am currently a lead instructor at a summer camp where I teach kindergarten-sixth grade a variety of different science projects. I pride myself in my ability to connect with all of my clients and to make the learning space fun. My top priority is making sure everyone leaves the meeting with a better understanding of the topic and encouraged to learn more!

I have been a tutor for almost 4 years now. I began my career tutoring a deaf and blind girl and high school level ASL. I am now in college tutoring my peers in college level ASL and have a very high success rate. My clients are very pleased with my knowledge, as it is my first language. They also prove to do better when they come to my tutoring sessions because of my in depth and extremely clear explanations. I meet over zoom and plan the meeting around what the student is learning in their ASL class and help them with extra clarification on topics, homework, studying, and communication skills.
