About Vitória
Oi gente! Eu me chamo Vitória, mas pode me chamar de Vi! I’m Brazilian, I live in the island of Florianópolis and I’m 27 years old! I have experience of 4 years teaching Brazilian Portuguese, and I have a degree in Portuguese and German Studies from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) in Brazil, with a study exchange at the Pädagogische Hochschule Weingarten, a university in southern Germany.
I’m a motivated teacher who is genuinely interested in my students’ goals! I love working with music and YouTube videos so that students can truly immerse themselves in the language and Brazilian culture!

My classes are based on the communicative approach. In other words, our focus is the language as a tool for communication, and that will always be our main goal! However, we don’t limit ourselves to just one method.
Lessons can be more like tutoring sessions, focused on the student’s questions. Or they can follow the comprehensible input approach, in which we read a variety of texts for language immersion. Regardless of the lesson type, the student is at the center. That’s why all classes are tailored to your individual interests and goals!
I really enjoy working with adults and teenagers, but all ages are welcome in our classes!
