About Eliana
I've run a few educational businesses and I have a degree in International Business and Marketing from the University of Leeds in the UK. I speak English, Spanish, Russian and Bulgarian, and have been teaching English for the past 3 years. I am a very good listener and I adapt my methods to my students' needs. I believe in a combined teaching approach: while a lot of the practice and exercises I do with my students focuses on conversation and situational dialogues with many examples, I am of the strong opinion that certain grammar rules need to be studied in their theoretical forms. This technique allows students to get a feel for how to express themselves naturally, while offering 'safety rules' to fall back on when in doubt. Having spent half of my life in Bulgaria, and half of it in England, I have gained a very clear understanding of both sides of language learning. On the one hand, I appreciate how difficult learning a second language can be and I know how to explain things to you because I've walked in your shoes before; on the other, I can offer a valuable insight into the ins and outs of being a proficient English speaker.
