About Otto

I am a Mandarin native speaker and have experiences in translating between simplified/traditional Chinese and English. I have worked professionally as an Assistant Design Manager for a developer in China for 5 years. My work is accurate and precise. I’m happy to help with improving your Chinese speaking and writing skills.

About the lesson

In my teaching practice, besides delivering the knowledge and skills to use Mandarin, it is my aim to inspire and motivate my students to learn the language. I believe the most efficient language learning happens through students’ own engagement and self-effort.

I believe that language development happens through social interaction and guided assistance, so that teacher and students have to work together to co-construct meaning in context. In addition, while progressing quicker in spoken Chinese, you also lay better foundations for character memorization by understanding the logic of characters' construction.
