About Juliana
I’m Juliana, a native Spanish speaker from Colombia and a communications and journalism professional with an MSc in Public Policy from the University of Edinburgh. I have lived and worked in Colombia, France, Italy and the UK, and I speak Spanish, English, French and Italian.
Languages have always been a passion of mine, and I want to teach Spanish using the same approach that has helped me learn other languages: lots of practical communication, patience, immersion and genuine interaction with native speakers. I believe that learning a language should feel natural and enjoyable rather than stiff or overly academic, while still giving students enough understanding of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation to know why the language works the way it does.
I know how important it is to have someone who listens patiently, encourages you to speak and makes you feel comfortable asking questions or making mistakes. I want my students to experience that same feeling of gradually becoming more confident and independent in a new language.
My aim is to create relaxed, practical lessons where you can speak Spanish from the beginning, learn through real-life situations and discover Colombian and wider Latin American culture along the way.

My lessons are relaxed, practical and adapted to each student’s level, interests and goals. I focus particularly on conversation, pronunciation and building confidence when speaking Spanish. I use real-life topics, cultural references, short texts and everyday situations to make lessons engaging and useful.
Lessons are usually 50–60 minutes and are suitable for adults and older students, from beginners to more advanced learners. As a native Colombian Spanish speaker and communications professional, I can also introduce students to Colombian and wider Latin American culture and help them develop natural, real-world Spanish.
