About Jazz
Hi! I’m Jazz
I’m Deaf, and I’ve been using American Sign Language (ASL) since I was a baby. ASL isn’t just something I studied. It’s a language I’ve used throughout my entire life.
I love helping people learn ASL in a way that feels comfortable, fun, practical, and easy to understand.
I’m also a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) with a degree in Computer Information Technology.
Never signed before? That’s completely okay! You don’t need any experience to start learning with me. And if you already know some ASL, we’ll build on what you know and help you become even more confident.
I’m patient, supportive, and I’ll teach at your pace. You never have to feel embarrassed about making mistakes with me. Mistakes are part of learning!
My goal is not just to teach you individual signs. I want to help you actually communicate in ASL, have real conversations, understand Deaf communication, and feel confident interacting with Deaf people.
Whether you’re learning ASL for yourself, your family, friends, work, school, or simply because you’ve always wanted to learn, you’re welcome here.
And the best part? You can learn with me from anywhere! All lessons are online.

Want to learn ASL without feeling overwhelmed? You’re in the right place!
My lessons are visual, interactive, relaxed, and focused on real-life communication. I don’t want you to sit there memorizing hundreds of signs. I want you to actually use ASL and have conversations.
How I Teach
I teach step by step and at your pace. During our lessons, I’ll demonstrate signs clearly, have you practice them with me, and then show you how to put those signs into actual conversations.
We can work on vocabulary, fingerspelling, numbers, facial expressions, ASL grammar and sentence structure, everyday conversations, Deaf culture, and natural signing.
For example, instead of only teaching you signs like HELLO, NAME, YOU, and WHAT, I’ll help you put them together and practice having a real introduction in ASL.
I’ll also give you plenty of opportunities to sign back to me, so you’re not just watching me teach. You’ll actually be using what you learn throughout the lesson.
Complete beginner? We’ll start with the basics and build your foundation step by step.
Already know ASL? I’ll meet you at your current level and focus on improving your vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, and confidence.
Everyone learns differently, so I’ll adjust each lesson around your level, goals, and learning style. Ask questions. Make mistakes. Forget a sign. Laugh about it. Try again. That’s how we learn!
My goal is simple: I want you to leave each lesson feeling more comfortable and confident communicating in ASL than when you started.
