About Estelle
My name is Estelle and I am offering French instruction for all levels in the San Francisco area. I am a native speaker and have 5 years of university-level teaching experience to students and professionals alike in France and the United States. I have a bachelors in English Literature, Language, and Civilization as well as a Masters in Didactics of French as a foreign language.
Friday - Saturday (end of afternoon)- Sunday- Monday preferred.

I split my professional career amongst institutions in both France and the United States, including the Institut Américain Universitaire in Aix en Provence, St. Mary’s College of Maryland, and The French Institute of San Francisco. During this diverse professional experience, I also fully came to realize how comfortable I was in my teaching practices and that I was eager to pass on my passion for this subject and this discipline. Exposing students to French culture and enabling them to efficiently learn the language is truly a passion of mine.
I do not believe in a "cookie cutter" approach to language instruction, rather striving to adapt my methods to the individual skill level and goals of the student. With that said, I believe the communicative approach is the most conducive to language retention and correct oral expression. Assignments can be given for outside work (recommended).
