As someone who has both taught languages and been learning them for several years, I've learnt that having someone to practice with regularly, as well as a strong foundation in grammar, is the key to rapidly learning a language. Therefore I would make sure my student's foundations in grammar are strong and then proceed to converse with them as much as possible, encouraging them to try saying whatever they want and correcting their mistakes.
I also like to let my students write short creative pieces to practice their spelling/ grammar, and then identifying areas of weakness and focus on that.
I am an engineering student born in France. My native language is therefore French and so I'm very comfortable with teaching oral and written French at both GCSE and A-Level.
In my lessons I focus both on strengthening my students' written and conversational skills so they can become better at French overall.
Please let me know at least 24 hours before the lesson if you need to cancel; otherwise I will still charge for it. If you need to rearrange a lesson there is no change to the fees.
