About Carla
I am business school student in France, studying in London for 4 months (until end of May). I have been giving french lessons in high school for 2 years on various subjects (economics, litterature...) to small groups (3-4 people) and individually.

I believe there are three keys to learning a language effectively :
1) being put out of one’s confort zone. I only speak french slowly during my french lessons and when I notice that the student really does not understand, I try to make them figure out the meaning without giving them the full translation.
2) the use of repetition/spaced-repetition. A french philosopher once said « teaching means repeating » and I believe it is true. Also, forgetting plays an important part in the learning process. I would usually do fun quizzes to make my students remember some important words and prononciations.
3) Speak it and listen to it regularly. This part is mostly up to the student but I like to give movies to watch in french as homework.
