My teaching method is, I imagine, a bit different from other methods.
I believe that in order to be fluent in a foreign language, it is important to embody it. Therefore, I like to play Drama games with my students, which require them to physicalise their thoughts, and also express themselves in French, not only through words but also through movements. All my students agreed that learning a new word with a movement made the process of remembering this specific word much easier.
I mix my own method with more academic methods when it comes to reading and writing, especially when the student starts learning the language from scratch. It is important to build a strong base to be able to use more playful and creative methods later on.
My lessons are adapted to my students' age, needs and interests. Learning French is amazing, however I also encourage my students to see my classes as an opportunity to discover the French culture with a native (Yes, this includes eating REAL croissants. )
I am currently in my third year of Drama: Performance, Politics and Society at Goldsmiths, University of London. I have also graduated from The American Academy of Dramatic Arts of Los Angeles, where I was intensively trained as an actress in Theatre, TV and Musical Theatre.
I have been teaching French in London since 2014 to children as well as adults. My students have considerably improve, especially speaking wise. I have helped my younger students with their exams and homework, and taught my older students how to be confident using the language in Business.
Some facts about me:
1/ I grew up between Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire and Paris, France.
2/ I received my 'Baccalaureat' (French A-Levels) with Honours, specialising in Literature and Languages.
3/ Apart from French and English, I also speak Spanish at an intermediate level.
4/ I love dancing, especially salsa and bachata. (We might have to do a bit of dancing to learn new words )
5/ I believe that a learning process should always be fun and creative.
If you would like to cancel the class, please notify me at least 24h in advance so I can organise myself and take other bookings. Past this time, the class will be charged. Thank you.
