About Jay
Coming from a varied background of being an air traffic controller, software and website designer, an instructor in the aforementioned disciplines as well as a math and language tutor, I like the challenge of teaching. I say challenge because every student is different so it is not a one-size-fits-all process.

I put a priority in making sure my students overcome their timidity and feeling of shame because this is the one thing holding them back. Then practice is the key to success so I want to make sure the students get enough speaking time to actually feel they making progress. Going from casual conversation to rule-learning and ending with revisions of what was discussed at the beginning of the session is usually how I go about a session. But student energy or lack thereof has to be taken into account.
