About Meredith
Hello! I am a native Mandarin speaker currently studying in Sydney. I have a strong academic background in Chinese language and writing. In the Chinese university entrance exam (Gaokao), I achieved one of the highest Chinese scores in my school. My essay writing scores in practice exams were consistently around 40–42 out of 50.
I enjoy helping students improve their Chinese communication and writing skills in a clear and structured way. I also have experience tutoring primary school students in China (Grades 4–6), where I helped them improve reading comprehension, vocabulary and essay writing.
I am patient, supportive and adapt my teaching style depending on each student's learning goals. Whether you want to improve daily Mandarin conversation, strengthen writing skills, or build a solid foundation in Chinese, I will guide you step by step.

My lessons focus on building practical Chinese language skills while helping students gain confidence in speaking and writing.
For beginners, I focus on pronunciation, basic vocabulary and simple conversations to help students quickly start communicating in Mandarin. For intermediate learners, lessons focus more on reading comprehension, sentence structure and improving writing ability.
I also provide guidance on Chinese essay writing, helping students organise ideas clearly, improve vocabulary usage and write more structured essays.
A typical lesson lasts around 60 minutes and may include conversation practice, vocabulary learning, reading short texts and writing exercises. I always provide feedback and suggestions to help students improve step by step.
My lessons are suitable for beginners, school students, or anyone interested in learning Mandarin and improving their Chinese communication and writing skills.
