About Mariana
About me
Hi! I’m a native Spanish speaker based in Brighton, and I offer friendly, personalised Spanish tutoring for GCSE and A-level students.
I have previous experience supporting GCSE Spanish students through my stepmother’s school, and I also completed A-level Spanish myself. During my A-level studies, I regularly helped classmates with their Spanish, particularly with speaking, pronunciation and understanding the language as a native speaker.
Because Spanish is my first language, I can help students develop more natural pronunciation, improve their confidence when speaking and understand the language beyond simply memorising vocabulary.
I understand that learning a language for an exam can sometimes feel overwhelming, so my aim is to make lessons relaxed, practical and adapted to each student’s needs.

My approach
I don’t believe every student needs the same type of lesson.
I’ll start by getting to know the student’s current level, what they find difficult and what they want to improve. From there, I can tailor lessons around their needs.
For example, if a student understands Spanish well but struggles to speak confidently, we can focus more heavily on conversation and pronunciation. If grammar or writing is the main difficulty, we can work through those areas step by step.
My goal is not just to help students prepare for an exam, but to help them feel more confident actually using Spanish.
