About Jane
My name is Jane, I am 20 years old and a full-time first year student at the University of Manchester studying Cognitive Neuroscience and Psychology (BSc).
I have worked with children (ages 3-10) in the past for over 4 years in voluntary work. I have developed skills in engaging with children to keep interest in a subject and know the importance of having patience.
After studying Psychology at GCSE (A*) and A-Level (A) and finding the subject fascinating I decided I wanted to further my knowledge at university. My interest in brain injuries and neurodegenerative disease lead me to re-apply to university to do a BPS accredited degree which includes the core modules of both Neuroscience and Psychology.
I am very passionate about the subject of Psychology and love to read about new or current studies into the field. Psychology is a very rewarding field of study which can have life changing impacts on individuals and is constantly progressing. I hope to teach students in a way that keeps them interested and curious about the field.

I am prepared to teach both GCSE and A-Level Psychology.
I will teach the content of core studies, along with key facts and figures, advances and limitations of these studies. I will also tie in areas, perspectives and debates which are examinable both individually and in relation to a core study or hypothetical situation. By looking at an exam board's specific mark scheme I will teach students how to write long answer questions, ensuring they check every box to achieve the best mark they can.
Research methods is a key feature of Psychology teaching in every exam board. I will teach content and go through exam style questions. I believe that worked past exam questions are the best method of teaching for exam preparation, with some similarly structured questions given for different scenarios each year. This experience allows students to be confident in recognising how to approach and answer questions under pressure. I have experience in Research Methods and Statistics in both A level Maths (A) and Psychology (A), along with my current modules in these areas at university.
